Discover New Beginnings in Redding, CT

Enjoy a strikingly peaceful rural area when you visit Redding, CT. Twenty-five percent of its total land area is dedicated to preserved open spaces for forests and other natural areas. With a population of roughly 8,700, this city is at the heart of Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Everyone in the city works together to maintain its beauty so they can continue to delight in the wonderful quality of life there. Redding is composed of more than 60 miles of hiking trails, two state parks, and the town’s Topstone Park, which offers the locals a place for swimming and canoeing.

The townspeople of Redding aim to keep the history and past while also building the city’s future. They believe that the greatest asset that a town can have is its people and encourage everyone’s participation in all activities.

There were two theories about the origin of the city’s name. The first is that it was based on the town in Berkshire, England, which is Reading. The second is that it was named after John Read, a prominent lawyer in Boston and a former Congregationalist preacher.
